Breaking: Major demotion for Jack Eichel on North America's roster.

A very bad sign for the former second overall pick.

While first overall pick in the National Hockey League draft Auston Matthews has steadily climbed his way up the ranks of Team North America's roster it has been very much the opposite trajectory for the second overall pick in last year's NHL draft Jack Eichel.

On Tuesday Eichel had dropped all the way down with the announcement that he had been demoted to the roster's fourth line and the Buffalo Sabres forward would be playing alongside the New York Ranger's J.T. Miller and the Tampa Bay Lightning's Joanthan Drouin.

It's not where you want to be if you're Eichel, especially not after entering the NHL with so much hype as well as the pedigree of being selected second overall at the draft. The fact that he made this team alone is a testament to the fact that he is one of the best hockey player's in North America today, but falling this far down has to be a major disappointment for both Eichel and the Sabres.

To make matters worse he will now need to impress with limited fourth line minutes in order to earn his way back up.
