Breaking: Major development in Milan Lucic contract talks.

It may have been premature to presume Milan Lucic was done with the Los Angeles Kings.

Earlier this month reports surfaced that no contract talks had taken place between Lucic's management and the Kings, and furthermore that the two sides were a ways apart on both term and money. In fact at the time Lucic's agent even appeared to hit that his hometown team, the Vancouver Canucks, could be the favorite to acquire the veteran forward.

However according to a recent report from Kings insider Jon Rosen the two sides have once again picked up the negotiation indicating that Lucic and the Kings may not be done with one another just yet. Rosen added that there was nothing imminent coming, likely a result of the aforementioned gaps in term and money, but described the talks as "ongoing".

This far into the process, Lucic and his agent will likely use the free agent window to speak to other teams to gauge his value prior to signing any kind of deal, but the possibility of him returning to Los Angeles is once again open.
