It sounds like Jonathan Drouin will be traded after all.

Today during an interview on the Jeff Blair Show on Sportsnet 590 Radio TVA Sports' hockey insider Renaud Lavoie stated he belives a deal will get done in the coming weeks.

"I do expect something is going to happen before the trading deadline."

That's not all, TVA Sports had previously reported that there was a new frontrunner to acquire Drouin, the Ottawa Senators, and during the radio interview Lavoie echoed those sentiments. According to Lavoie Yzerman appears to be interested in two players from Ottawa.

“He’s always looking as a GM to find those players who quote-unquote ‘nobody wants anymore,’ ” Lavoie said. “Kyle Turris is a good example.”

"From my understanding, it's costly," Lavoie said of the price to secure Drouion in a trade. "If they're asking for a young D like [Ottawa's Cody] Ceci, I'm not sure they're not going to say yes to that."

It's a steep price no doubt, but Lavoie is confident Yzerman will find someone to pay up big for Drouin ahead of the deadline.

"I'm sure Yzerman will find someone to pay the price," Lavoie said.
