Breaking: Major rumors of potential player for player trade from top insider.

We have rumors of a major player for player deal in the NHL, and when you consider the source you know it's good.

From St. James:

An early afternoon flight Tuesday into New York afforded Wings brass the opportunity to scout defenseman Cam Fowler as Anaheim played that night at New Jersey. At last asking price, however, the Ducks’ demands included Anthony Mantha.

This would be a huge deal for both teams, the Red Wings badly need the help on the blue line, and the Ducks have too many defenders and adding a quality forward who can play in a top six role would be a huge benefit to a struggling team.

There's also of course the added benefit for the Ducks of beginning to make room to get the Hampus Lindholm contract signed as quickly as possible.
