A 25-year-old National Hockey League defenseman is reportedly drawing a ton of trade interest from around the league, including from the team that traded him just two seasons ago.

According to a breaking news report from Jason Brough of TSN, the Florida Panthers are interested in re-acquiring defenseman Erik Gudbranson, a player they traded to Vancouver after the 2015-2016 NHL season.

However while the Panthers may be interested according to Brough there are other teams with interest in acquiring Gudbranson. Adding to the intrigue is the fact that Jeff Paterson of TSN is reporting that 15 different NHL teams will have scouts tonight to watch the Canucks face off against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Gudbransson is currently playing on a one year deal worth $3,500,000 and he will be an unrestricted free-agent at the end of the regular season, assuming he does not sign a contract extension prior to that. It's unclear if the Canucks are currently attempting to work some kind of sign and trade, or if they are merely shopping him as a rental.

Given that the Panthers are believed to be among the teams with interest, we feel a sign and trade seems like the more likely scenario, at least in that specific case.
