With the team sadly out of the Playoffs already, the Leafs are focusing on roster management to better prepare for next year. Although the actual group is pretty solid and is expected to grow into a Cup contender in a near future.

However, you never stop hunting for promising talents, whether you are cup contender or not. This is precisely what the Maple Leafs' management has done today by signing prospect Carl Grundstrom to a three-year entry-level contract.

Grundstrom is a Swedish winger who was drafted 57th overall by the Leafs' last year. In the 2016-2017 season in the Swedish national league, he earned 20 points in 45 games played. He's not expected to grow into another Auston Matthews, but he has the reputation of being a hard worker who plays an intense style.
