Breaking: Marchand leaves morning skate early ahead of Game 1

Boston Bruins fans have been holding their breaths when it comes to star forward Brad Marchand ahead of the first game of the Stanley Cup final tonight against the St. Louis Blues.

On Friday night, the Bruins held a scrimmage at the TD Garden and panic ensued when Marchand was spotted in pain on the team’s bench, holding his left hand after colliding with teammate Connor Clifton.

On Sunday, the star forward did not attend team’s practice, so fans started to worry about his status for Game 1.

This morning, people were relieved to see Marchand on the ice with the rest of his teammates for the skate. However, the veteran only stayed on the ice for a few minutes, which got fans, pundits and media members talking.

However, the good news is that head coach Bruce Cassidy revealed right away that Marchand would take part in Game 1 despite missing most of the morning skate on Monday.

“He’s playing tonight,” Cassidy said.

We all know it would take a lot for any player to miss the Stanley Cup final and Marchand is no different.

Let’s see however if he can perform up to his standards despite the hand injury that seems to keep nagging him…
