The Montreal Canadiens are currently dead last in the Eastern conference, with an atrocious 2-7-1 record. Many players like goaltender Carey Price or captain Max Pacioretty have been struggling since the start of the season, but former Tampa Bay Lightning and New York Rangers forward Martin St-Louis believes the fans shouldn't blame them specifically.

In an interview with TVA Sports, St-Louis thinks it is a mistake to hold Pacioretty accountable for everything that's happening to the Habs, even though he hasn't played as well as he should have:

"Max breathes and lives hockey. There isn't a single day where he comes home feeling happy about what is happening with the Canadiens. I'm telling you, it's impossible. He is a pro. He knows his job is to score goals. But at the same time, he has a lot of responsibilities and a lot of pressure on his shoulders."

St-Louis played more than 1100 games in the NHL and amassed more than 1000 points. He knows more than anyone that the problems of a team isn't a matter of a player or two:

"The reality is: the only way for the Habs to get back on track is with teamwork. My teammates often carried me when I had a couple of bad games. "

In 10 games this year, Pacioretty was only able to score twice. He has a +/- ratio of -6.
