Matthew Tkachuk fires back at Doughty's saying he's a DIRTY player

Calgary Flames forward Matthew Tkachuk has been suspended for two games for an elbow to the face of Drew Doughty.

Player safety cited both the "reckless nature" of the decision to deliver such an elbow, as well as the force used by Tkachuk as the reason for their decision to give two games.

After the game, Doughty went one step further and straight up called out Tkachuk for his antics on the ice, labeling him a "dirt player."

“He’s a pretty dirty player, that kid. To be a rookie and play like that is a little surprising."

It is a reputation that has been following Tkachuk around the NHL since he started playing this season, and it doesn't seem like it's one he intends to shake off anytime soon.

"I expected more from him, honestly, than to go right to the media and start complaining after a loss," said Tkachuk

"He’s a good enough player where he doesn’t have to worry about any of that stuff. He’s a skilled guy and everything like that, and he’s won a couple of Cups. He’s still a real good player so I don’t think he’ll be too worried about it tomorrow." Tkachuk continued.
