Seems extremely likely he will be dealt.

It sounds like it's not only a matter of time before the Buffalo Sabres pull the trigger on a trade for soon to be unrestricted free agent Evander Kane.

The elite goal scorer has been the subject of trade rumors ever since his off-ice issues caused a great deal of embarrassment to the Buffalo Sabres organization, and now with his contract running out it sounds like he will finally be dealt.

TSN insider Bob McKenzie commented on the possibility of Kane being traded this evening, and he stated that it is indeed likely that he will be traded prior to the end of the regular season.

According to McKenzie it appears that both the term and money that Kane will be seeking on his next contract will not be team-friendly, and given the problems he has caused the Sabres off the ice it seems unlikely that they would make a huge long-term commitment to Kane.

Despite his issues this is a man who scored 28 goals in just 70 games last season, not to mention he already has 6 in 10 games this season, and that is the type of goal scoring that causes National Hockey League general managers to drool.

The question now becomes will he be traded as a rental player to a Cup contender? Or will a team with interest in signing him long-term attempt to work some kind of sign & trade deal.
