Breaking: Medical emergency forces Senators and Panthers to stop play

A medical emergency at Canadian Tire Centre in Kanata, Ontario has forced a stoppage in play during tonight's game between the Ottawa Senators and Florida Panthers.

There is a medical emergency in the building so the final 3:37 will be played before the second period begins.


No word yet on the exact cause or severity of the emergency, but we have to assume that this is life threatening. Thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in attendance until things are resolved.

UPDATE: According to Sens fan and Ottawa Champions baseball analyst Etienne Gauvin, a fan in attendance has been receiving CPR.

As if this tragic medical emergency wasn't enough, Panthers forward Vincent Trocheck suffered a HORRIFIC leg injury when play resumed.
