Even now, a full season after the Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators put together one of the most shocking trades in recent memory, trading defenseman P.K. Subban for then Predators captain Shea Weber, fans in Montreal are still resentful of how they perceive their star defenseman was treated by the team.

One of the names at the center of that controversy is that of former head coach Michel Therrien. Therrien was heavily criticized by both the fans and the media when he publicly called out Subban for an "individual mistake," and now months after being fired, Therrien has finally broken his silence on the matter.

TSN's Joey Alfieri‏ has reported comments from Therrien that indicated the former Canadiens head coach now realizes the comments were a mistake, or at the very least realizes how badly they damaged his image and is now trying to mitigate that damage.

"That was a comment I probably shouldn't have made," said Therrien as per Alfieri.

Unfortunately for Therrien, even if he is genuinely repentant it's likely to be too little to late as far as the fan base is concerned.
