Breaking: Montreal announce a roster move
Keystone Press

The Montreal Canadiens have recalled defenseman David Schlemko from the Laval Rocket (AHL), the team announced Saturday night. He played two games in the AHL, registering one point.

Schlemko was acquired via trade by Montreal  for a fifth round pick in 2019 from the Vegas Golden Knights, after he was claimed on Expansion Draft from the San Jose Sharks. He hasn't play a game with Montreal yet, as he was dealing with a hand injury he suffered during training camp.

The Edmonton, Alberta native was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Phoenix Coyotes in 2007.

In 360 games played in the NHL with the Coyotes, the Dallas Stars, the Calgary Flames, the New Jersey Devils and the San Jose Sharks, Schlemko registered 87 points. He added five points in 26 playoff games.
