Montreal Canadiens Have Made Their First Off-season Move

“Nathan Beaulieu is at a crossroad. The clock is ticking,” said Bergevin during the season-ending press conference following an early elimination.

The Montreal Canadiens announced they have signed KHL free agent Jakub Jerabek. What is so major about this signing? First, Jerabek is a good offensive d-man that can play right now in the show. Second, when you look at it, he’s the same type of player as Nathan Beaulieu. Is this the end for him? Third, might be an expansion draft strategy.

As per Aivis Kalniņš, KHL insider. KHL/European scout, "Jerabek was four days away from becoming a free agent in KHL, so that's when I would expect a word from the team. Kalniņš also described him as a mobile two-way D who can move the puck, has great play making ability.
