Breaking: More bad news for Jonathan Toews.
Keystone Press

The Chicago Blackhawks have already been without their captain Jonathan Toews for three games, and it sounds like he's going to be missing even more.

report from Mark Potash of the Chicago Sun-Times has revealed that Toews will not play this evening when the Blackhawks face off against the New Jersey Devils. Furthermore Toews is reportedly listed as doubtful for Saturday's contest against Philadelphia, indicating he might still be a little ways out from a full recovery.

It's still unclear what exactly is ailing Toews, there has been no official report regarding the status of his injury, all we know is that it is some form of upper-body ailment. The Blackhawks expect to have a better idea of Toews' recovery time once he resumes skating, presumably Friday or Saturday of this week.

Toews has 4 goals and 8 assists in his 21 games played this season and as one of the premier two-way centers in the National Hockey League the impact his absence from the line up has on his team can not be understated.
