The Boston Bruins have been without star forward Patrice Bergeron since the start of the regular season and it sounds like he won't be coming back anytime soon.

Once again Bergeron did not practice with his teammates on Friday and while there has been no official announcement from the Bruins, Bruins insider Joe Haggerty believes that means he will be out at least through the week-end.

Bergeron is arguably Boston's best player, and with him already missing the first three games of the season there is now genuine concern regarding his mysterious "lower-body injury." Head coach Bruce Cassidy admitted the absence was a tough one for the team.

“He’s out there skating [on his own] so that’s a good sign, but obviously not being able to participate in practice you’re always concerned that you need one of those good practices before you can play. It doesn’t look like he’ll be in, but I don’t want to get ahead of myself,” said Cassidy as per NBC Sports. “It hurts. He’s arguably our best player night in and night out. He makes people around him better and we use him in all situations."

It doesn't sound like Cassidy plans to use him until he does take in a full practice, so that will likely be our first indicator of when Bergeron is set to return. We will keep you up to date with the latest on the Bruins star forward.
