Breaking: Murray and Fleury to square off tonight!
KeyStone Press

The Pittsburgh Penguins and the Vegas Golden Knights - Matt Murray and Marc-Andre Fleury to be more specific, have had today's date marked on their calendar since the schedules were released this past summer.

Tonight marks the first time the two teams face off since a deal was made to have Fleury picked off in the expansion draft. A 2nd round draft pick was sent along with him to guarantee that George McPhee did not select Murray or any other promising young player.

In a twist of fate, both goalies suffered injuries, Fleury's significantly longer than Murray's, and both make their returns in the same week. Murray's happens to be on this very night - in what will be the first match between the two.

Gerard Gallant, head coach of the Golden Knights, already confirmed that Fleury will start tonight.

Murray has been out since November 27th with a lower-body injury, and returned to the ice at the beginning of the week. He looked ready to play on Monday against the Colorado Avalanche but they decided to give him a bit more time to recover.

Fleury, for his part, had been out since October with a concussion that had him sidelined for several weeks.

They couldn't have picked a better time to heal up!

For those on the East coast, this will be a late puck drop - 10pm ET. Who will be staying up for this exciting and long-anticipated matchup?
