Strange turn of events for the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday as TSN’s Mark Masters and many insiders reveal that defensman Jake Muzzin will not play Saturday night against the Philadelphia Flyers.

While many of you might believe it is because the blue liner got injured in Tuesday’s contest against the Washington Capitals, it is said that Muzzin will not be in uniform for personal reasons.

Not because he is injured.

During Tuesday’s 4-3 overtime loss to the Caps, Muzzin suffered a charley horse in the first period and did not return to action.

As we said, he is now absent from the trip to Philadelphia, however, it isn’t injury related.

On the other hand, there is good news as captain John Tavares is likely to make a return to action tomorrow night.

He is expected to speak with the medical staff later today in order to receive the final green light to rejoin the Leafs lineup.
