Breaking: New details make McDavid's contract even more insane!

While we still don't have the full details regarding the contract of Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid, the details we do have are quite stunning. 

Senior columnist over at Sportsnet Mark Spector has just reported that of the massive $100 million dollar deal earned by McDavid today, $86 million of that money will be in signing bonuses. 

This will effectively make McDavid's contract buyout proof, although as things stand a buyout for McDavid would seem extremely unlikely, although at this time the break down of those signing bonuses is still a mystery. 

In the event of a career-threatening injury this contract could prove to be very dangerous however, fans in Columbus know all too well about contracts loaded with signing bonuses as they had to deal with the David Clarkson deal.

Also worth noting, Yahoo's Greg Wyshynski has already hinted at the fact that he believes this will be a major topic during the next Collective Bargaining Agreement negations between the National Hockey League and National Hockey League Player's Association, and even used the word "lockout."
