Breaking: New player on waivers

According to Chris Johnston, reporter for Sportsnet, Zac Rinaldo has been placed on waivers today.

Rinaldo wasn’t part of the Bruins’ training camp this year, and chances were that he was called up to just fill a spot. He is not expected to be part of Boston’s official roster, and may be called up just to have an imposing presence on the ice over the course of the season.

Rinaldo is still serving a five-game ban he received late last season, and was suspended indefinitely from the Providence Bruins (shortly after being sent there), both of which were handed down to him after hits to the head of opposing players.
