The World Cup of Hockey committee has announced that new infrared player and puck tracking technology will be implemented during next month’s tournament.

Everything from distance traveled to speed and velocity will be calculated and reports will be provided post-game by SAP.

Moreover, new digital advertising technology will be implemented therein, where the Air Canada Center’s static boards will now be tailored to marketers’ creative visuals.

During play stoppages, fans watching from the comfort of their homes will be treated to animated graphics on the rink’s boards.

More on this soon.
