Breaking: New update concerning Kyle Okposo's tragic health condition!
Keystone Press

Buffalo Sabres forward Kyle Okposo scared pretty much everybody in the National Hockey League when he was rushed in a neuro intensive care unit with an undisclosed medical condition, back in April. There were concerns about his future, both on and off the ice: at some point, many people thought he would not be able to play again.

But we have good news for you, Sabres fans. Da Beauty League, a high-caliber summer hockey league featuring many NHL players announced that the 29-year-old would be playing tonight.

Okposo is in team RBC - Lawton/Malone, and will skate alongside many other NHL stars like Nick Bjugstad, Alex Goligoski and Zach Parise, to name but a few. Will he score? How will he perform? This is not really important for now: let's just appreciate the fact he set foot on the ice again, and that he is currently getting ready for training camp.

Okposo is a former 7th overall pick in the 2006 NHL draft. He played 594 games with the New York Islanders and the Buffalo Sabres, in which he recorded 158 goals and 256 assists for 414 points, as well as 334 penalty minutes. He amassed 45 points in 65 games last season.
