Rangers sign KHL player

The New York Rangers have added a young defenseman to their organization.  Alexei Bereglazov officially agreed to the terms today. The 23-year-old Russian player had six assists in eight KHL playoff games with the Metallurg Magnitogorsk.  He also put up 19 points in 60 regular season game.   This young defenseman is listed at 6’4, 205 pounds.  His physicality will definitely benefit the Rangers next season, unless they take a chance and let him join their playoff run this year.    

Bereglazov played 162 games in the last 4 seasons in the KHL.  His team the Metallurg Magnitogorsk won the 2015-16 Gagarin Cup, and you can be sure the Bereglazov played a large role in the win.  He also led the KHL defensemen 24 years old or younger in assists and tied for first among KHL defensemen again 24 years old or younger in points this season.
