It sounds like a new veteran center may be on the trading block.

While the Tampa Bay Lightning are still in for the playoffs, it appears that due to the threat of the expansion draft as well as potential salary cap issues down the line, they are seriously contemplating dealing their veteran center Brian Boyle.

Praised insider Darren Dreger spoke on TSN 690 about the possibility for the Lightning to move Boyle by the trade deadline. Brian Boyle is that huge physical centerman (6'7, 245 pounds) now playing mainly on the left wing that can definitely add up some depth to a contending organization or any organization.

Dreger pointed out another detail that makes Boyle a potential target by march 1st. He's currently playing the last season of his 3-years contract with the Lightning which makes him a low-risk move for any contending team.

Darren Dreger talked about the possibilities of seeing him wearing a Montreal Canadiens' jersey in a close future as Marc Bergevin is always sniffing around big centerman. But let's be honest, if Boyle is on the trading block, probably every team will call regarding his services. There's not a lot of those players around the league and every team would take him as a 3rd line or 4th line center.
