Signature Alert: The Bolts have signed 6ft2, 202 pounds defenseman

As per resported by the team, The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed defenseman Libor Hajek (LEE-bohr, HIGH-ak) to a three-year, two-way entry level contract, vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced today.

Libor Hajek, 19-years-old, is a 6ft2, 202 pounds defenseman from Czech Republic. He played 65 games so far with the Saskatoon Blades in the WHL.

Hajek scored 4 goals and registered 22 assists for a total of 26 points. He was originally drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the second round (37th overall) at the 2016 NHL entry Draft.

Scouting reports taken on Last Word on Sports describe him as "a strong defensive defenceman, who also adds a little offense from the back end. With an improved slapshot and a little bit better high end speed; he could be even more than that; but its more likely that his ceiling is as a complimentary defenceman on the top pair. His style is reminiscent of Marc Methot, though this is a style comparison only and not one based on talent."
