Martin Havlat calls it a carreer

"Hockey was my life, but the last few years, I just couldn’t play the way I wanted to play. My heart wanted to keep on going, but my body didn’t allow me to do it. I felt it was time. I know I’ve made the right decision. I had already undergone a shoulder surgery, a serious pelvic injury and other injuries, but my whole career I dealt with groin problems" said Martin Havlat on the NHLPA's website as he announced his retirement.

Martin Havlat retires after 14 seasons in the NHL. During those years, he played 790 games, scored 242 goals and delivered 352 assists for a total of 594 Pts. He was drafted in 1999 (26th overall) by the Ottawa Senators. He was traded during the 2006-2007 campaign to the Chicago Blackhawks where he played 3 years before being trade to Minnesota Wild. He also wore the Sharks, the Devils and the Blues jerseys.
