Breaking: NHL announces a HUGE suspension for Dennis Wideman.
A massive suspension for his hit on an NHL official.
HockeyFeed
The National Hockey League has come down on Calgary Flame Dennis Wideman as a result of his hit on a National Hockey League official.
The league announced a 20 game suspension for Wideman's hit on official Don Henderson during a game against the Nashville Predators that occurred prior to the All-Star break.
We have not yet heard a detailed explanation as to how the NHL reached a conclusion of 20 games, but it's hard to imagine that with a suspension that big the NHL believed Wideman's story about being dazed from a hit moments before his hit on Henderson. We will provide more details as the story develops.
UPDATE: NHL Public Relations has announced Wideman will forfeit $564,516.20 in salary
