Breaking: NHL announces suspension for veteran Roman Polak.

The Toronto Maple Leafs veteran defenseman Roman Polak suspended two games for boarding Columbus’ Oliver Bjorkstrand as announced by the NHL player safety department on twitter.

As reported by Leafs reporter James Mirtle, Polak had never been fined or suspended before. Closing in on 700 regular season and playoff games. 

Roman Polak hit Oliver Bjorkstrand from behind in yesterday’s matchup between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Columbus Blue Jackets. Yet it’ll be another heavy hit from behind that will raise controversy on whose fault it is as Bjorkstrand appears to turns his back at the last second.
