We have a mystery injury to report on.

A breaking news report from TSN's Jason Gregor has revealed that Edmonton Oilers goaltender Cam Talbot has suffered some kind of injury, although the nature of that injury is currently unclear at this time.

Oilers head coach Todd McLellan informed Gregor that Talbot "tweaked something in his upper-body" and also that Talbot was "getting it checked now."

An injury to Tabot could be catastrophic at the best of times, however if this proves to be serious it would require the Oilers to call up another goalie to their roster. This would effectively force the Oilers to move one of their current players to the waiver wire in order to do so.

No word yet on how Talbot suffered the injury, but he had a strong performance for Edmonton on Tuesday night so we presume this occurred today. That is however only speculation at this time.
