Breaking: NHL enforcer leaving the only team he has every played for!

Things are already getting extremely interesting in the National Hockey League as we approach the expansion draft that will welcome in the Las Vegas Golden Knights.

The threat of that draft has already caused a number of teams to make some unusual and/or surprising moves and the latest comes from the Ottawa Senators.

According to a report from Ottawa Senators insider Bruce Garrioch, notorious NHL enforcer Chris Neil has been informed by the Senators that he will not be receiving a contract offer from the team, and as a result he will be testing free agency on July 1st.

Garrioch is reporting that Neil intends to play at least one more year in the NHL, which would mean that he could for the first time in his 1000+ game career be playing for a team not named the Ottawa Senators.

Neil has been one of the most reviled players in the league during his NHL career, and it will be interesting to see which NHL team welcomes him into their franchise, if any. Certainly there's no doubt that he can still bring the grit and physicality to the table.
