Breaking: NHL forward hospitalized, is in “intensive care.”

A National Hockey League forward appears to be in serious condition.

Buffalo Sabres forward Kyle Okposo has been hospitalized and is currently in intensive care while he is being treated for an unknown condition, but obviously concern for his health is very high at this time.

Insider John Vogl of the Buffalo News has the details:

Okposo is in the Neuro Surgical ICU at Buffalo General Hospital, Paul Hamilton of WGR-AM 550 reported Wednesday. The Buffalo News has confirmed the story.

According to the website for the UCLA Neurosurgery Department, the neuro ICU cares for patients with all types of neurosurgical and neurological injuries, including stroke, brain hemorrhage, trauma and tumors.

It's hard to gauge the situation without understanding exactly what ails Okposo at this time, but our thoughts are with him and we are hoping for a full and speedy recovery.
