Breaking: NHL forward name captain of Finland's World Cup Team.

As the World Cup draws closer and closer it's hard not to get caught up in the building anticipation for what could truly be a fantastic tournament.

With that said the players and squads who will be participating are already working hard as they prepare for the event, and on Monday Team Finland made a major announcement revealing that they had selected the man who lead lead their team as captain.

Their choice may have been a relatively easy one as well, not only is the man they chose, Minnesota Wild forward Mikko Koivu, is already a captain at the National Hockey League level, he's a pretty darn good player as well, and one with a ton of experience under his belt.

Koivu has often represented Finland on the international stage, and there's no doubt he will be relishing the opportunity to do so here at the World Cup.
