Breaking: NHL GM openly stated he's looking to “add some forward depth.”

The Ottawa Senators recently acknowledged that they might be held without their veteran forward Clarke MacArthur for a while, probably for the remainder of the season. As of now, the Senators are holding the 2nd rank in the Atlantic Division, thanks to Guy Boucher and his tremendous job as Ottawa's head coach.

It would come as a surprise to see the Senators stay put with such an opportunity ahead of them. See, not only are they in the playoffs, they're part of the NHL's weakest division mostly due to Florida and Tampa Bay's almost-season-ending injury to their core players.

According to Bruce Garrioch, "Several teams are reportedly inquiring about recent world junior darlings and Senators property Colin White and Thomas Chabot,  but it doesn't sound like any deals involving them are going to happen.". Could the Sens be tempted to trade their struggling prospect Curtis Lazar? Are they willing to let go their first pick? One thing is for sure, general manager Pierre Dorion won't rush into this.

"Right now, the asking prices are ridiculous almost for rentals and non-rentals," Dorion said. "We're comfortable with what we have here. We're prepared to give up something to get something. You can't just (give up) top-end players for seventh-round picks."
