A veteran backup goaltender is headed to the waiver wire.
The Los Angeles Kings were hoping that they could rely on 29-year-old goalie Jeff Zatkoff to help shoulder the burden after number one goaltender Jonathan Quick was injured early on.
Unfortunately in Zatkoff's thirteen appearances for the Kings this season he has been at best inconsistent and some would outright state that he has not been good enough to maintain a spot at the NHL level.
With a 2.94 goals against average and an .879 save percentage it seems unlikely that Zatkoff will be claimed.
