Breaking: NHLer leaves his team as tragedy strikes his family.

Just a few days ago we were celebrating the return of goaltender Craig Anderson to the Ottawa Senators net, his first action since taking a leave upon learning of his wife's cancer. It was an incredible and emotional moment, one that saw Anderson dominate on his way to a shut out, a truly story book performance.

Unfortunately things appear to have taken a turn for the worse, and the Ottawa Senators have announced just minutes ago that Anderson is taking leave yet again to be with his beautiful wife Nicholle in this most difficult of times.

The Senators have also added that they are unsure when Anderson will return this time, and frankly in this situation we doubt that anyone will blame him for taking care of the woman he loves above all else.

Thankfully the reaction from the Ottawa Senators has been an outpouring of support, and like them we wish Anderson nothing but the best, and sincerely hope Nicholle will make a full and speedy recovery.
