Breaking: NHL hands out suspension to Hab’s Byron

NHL Player Safety has suspended Montreal Canadiens forward Paul Byron three games for charging Florida Panthers defenseman MacKenzie Weegar.

Byron was assess a two-minute charging penalty on the hit that sent Weegar to the Panther’s locker room. Weegar left the game and didn’t return with what the Panthers called an upper-body injury.

Byron picked up an assist against the Panthers and now has 10 goals and 18 points in 34 games this season. Weegar has one goal and seven points in 42 games with the Panthers this season.
