Breaking: NHL head coach fired on Saturday night.

With several coaches on the hot seat it's honestly somewhat of a surprise that it took this long for some big firings to come down.

With that said, the Minnesota Wild have reportedly fired their head coach, Mike Yeo, according to Mike Russo of the Star Tribune who was notified via text of the decision to terminate Yeo.

Yeo's tenure behind the Wild bench has spanned over 5 seasons, and he now leaves behind a record of 173-132-44 over that stretch. The Wild have been in a major slump, and even former players have publicly called for Yeo to be fired, believing he is a large part of the reason the team has failed to achieve more success.
