Breaking: NHL in discussions to potentially get rid of the All-Star Game!

A long-time tradition may be coming to an end.

The National Hockey League is discussing a very controversial change to it's schedule, and to be perfectly honest I think I love it.

During an intermission report from Hockey Night in Canada, Sportsnet insider Chris Johnston shared a ton of behind the scenes knowledge, including rumors of a potential catastrophe for Las Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury, but none was more shocking than his comments about the NHL All-Star Game.

According to Johnston, commissioner Gary Bettman and the NHL are discussing scrapping the All-Star Game in exchange for some form of international tournament that would presumably be held each and every year. Johnston repeated several times that the objective here was to have an event with more of an international flavor.

Honestly I have never been a huge fan of the All-Star Game, it's clearly geared towards younger fans of the game, which is more than ok, but it does not produce the most competitive hockey put it mildly.

Some kind of international tournament where national pride would be on the line each and every year would be a welcome trade for the All-Star Game, if it does indeed come to pass in the future.

What do you think? Would you be willing to give up the All-Star Game and All-Star Week-End for a new internaitonal tournament each year?
