Breaking: NHL makes the right call on Johansen for his lumberjack chop on Scheifele!
Twitter

We all knew something would come to Nashville Predators forward Ryan Johansen, whose reckless actions stole the show last night in the tilt against the Winnipeg Jets.

The rivalry intensified even more on Thursday night when Johansen lumberjack chopped Jets' star forward Mark Sheifele to the side of the head with his stick.

The play took place during the first period of the contest, and while Johansen was sent to the box for high-sticking, we all knew the NHL and the Department of Player Safety wanted more.

Later on Friday, it was announced that Johansen has been suspended for two games for high-sticking Scheifele.

It sounds like the right call, however, some Montreal Canadiens fans will wonder why Paul Byron ended up with a three-game suspension for his hit on Florida Panthers' MacKenzie Weegar, that took place on Tuesday.

The NHL, people...
