Breaking: NHL Player Safety makes another RIDICULOUS call
Keystone Press

NHL Player Safety has announced a $2,403.67 fine against San Jose Sharks forward Timo Meier for his BRUTAL elbow and butt-end to the face of Vancouver Canucks defenseman Michael Del Zotto

Meier was assessed a 5 minute major and a game misconduct on the play, yet NHL Player Safety didn’t think Meier’s blatant attempt to injury warranted further penalty. The CBC Hockey Night in Canada crew broke down the play and predicted a suspension for Meier… yet nothing. Well… not nothing, but a measly $2,400 off of Meier’s annual salary off his $925,000 annual salary.

What’s your call? Did Player Safety make the right call here? Or did this ugly play involve a harsher penalty?
