Breaking: NHL prospect injured in development camp, leaves on a stretcher.

It sounds like we have a potentially devastating injury to a young National Hockey League hopeful.

According to a report from Jon Scott, not not John Scott, of TWC News Buffalo, 18 year old prospect Michael Campoli has been seriously injured in development camp. Campoli reportedly suffered the injury during a 3 on 3 scrimmage, it's unclear exactly what happened to him.

Thanks to Scott what we do know is the injury appears serious, serious enough that a stretcher was brought out to take Campoli off the ice, and his neck immobilized in a brace. We also know that Compoli was awake and communicating with trainers so that is somewhat of a silver lining here.

The 18 year old defenseman is coming off stints with the United States' Under-18 team, and is set to play for Boston College next season.
