Breaking: NHL punishes Hayden for high-sticking

The NHL Player Safety department has decided to crack down on Chicago Blackhawks' forward John Hayden for in illegal high-sticking penalty he incurred on Wednesday night against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Hayden took a 4 minute double minor penalty for high-sticking Lightning forward JT Brown in the first period of Wednesday night's match.
Hayden is likely thanking his lucky stars it was just a small fine. The league has been cracking down on dangerous plays lately and dolling out suspensions.

Hayden, 22, was drafted by the Blackkawks in 2013 and has 7 points in 20 games this season.
