Breaking: NHL scoring machine placed on IR, out at least 6 weeks

The St. Louis Blues have announced that star forward Jaden Schwartz has been placed on injured reserve after suffering a nasty ankle injury.

Schwartz, a first round pick in 2010, is off to the races this season with 35 points in 30 games, second only to Brayden Schenn in points for the Blues. He figures to be among the top 10 in NHL scoring, and was on pace for an impressive 95 point season.

Unfortunately, as he'll be out minimum a month and a half, he'll fall right out of the conversation for best point scorer in the NHL this season.

It's pretty hard to watch a player when he knows his season just took a serious hit.
