Breaking: NHL star injured at World Championship by hit from behind.

When owners in the National Hockey League argue that they should be compensated for loaning out their players to events like the Olympic Games, something they claim comes at great personal risk to them, it's moments like this one that really drive home that reality for fans.

On Monday the Philadelphia Flyers sat back and watched as one of their top forwards, Jakub Voracek, was injured when he took an unnecessary hit from behind. 

The hit appeared to come from behind, and it also appears that the player delivering the hit may have leaped into the hit, driving Voracek head and neck first into the boards.
