One of the National Hockey League's biggest names will hit the ice for the very first time this season, and expectations regarding his performance may now be at an all time high.

On Monday Minnesota Wild forward Zach Parise made his very first comments of the new year some good ones when he revealed that he has received medical clearance to return to the ice after a series of injuries related to his back.

“I’m glad it’s finally here. I’m glad I get a chance to play tomorrow...got the green light.”

Parise has been limited by a seemingly never-ending string of injuries since he signed a monster 13-year contract worth $98,000,000 with the Wild, and frustration with the once-beloved forward is now at an all-time high.

With 7 more years on his deal after this current season and with Parise already at 33-years of age, there is growing concern among the fan base about how long his body will be able to hold up to the rigors of playing in the National Hockey League.

Parise will get the chance to prove both the doubters and the critics wrong in the second half of the NHL season, and the hope is this time he can remain healthy for an extended period of time.
