NHL star who reportedly demanded monstrous deal met the media to discuss it

Yesterday, TSN 690’s Tony Marinaro, a very well-connected Habs insider, reported that Montreal Canadiens forward Alexander Radulov has made some monster contract demands. According to Marinaro, Radulov’s agent, Maxim Moliver, made an official request to the Habs for an 8-year deal.

The news had a bomb effect in Montreal and insider went to Radulov this morning to ask him if his agent really asked that monstrous deal. It’s important tu put in context that Marinaro admitted he did not know what the salary request on the deal was, but rumors were that Radulov was also looking for a big number, and one has to wonder how long he remains a Canadien if that is indeed the case.

Alex Radulov welcomed TSN insider John Lu and spoke about the huge rumor.

“It’s not even close, what they saying. I don’t even know how this… I just don’t want to even discuss that because it’s nothing I can really control. I was sick yesterday and i got a phone call from my agent (who said), ‘There’s something going on, some people talking, so I was like, Who’s talking? No on knows nothing about it, so I even talked to Marc (Bergevin) today and it’s Ike someone throw it in the Internet, or whatever it was, and it doesn’t make sense.’ Said Radulov.
