Breaking: NHL superstar Drew Doughty makes shocking comments about his future in L.A.

One of the biggest names in the National Hockey League has just cast some serious doubt about his future with the only team he has ever played for. 

Los Angeles Kings defenseman Drew Doughty recently spoke with Craig Custance of the Athletic about the huge free-agent period set for the summer of 2019 and Doughty openly admitted that he had already started to weigh his options.

“I’ve thought about it actually lately, I don’t know why,” Doughty told The Athletic. “I kind of just thought about my options and stuff like that. I never know what’s going to happen.”

That sounds a lot like a player who isn't confident in the fact that he will be re-signing with the Los Angeles Kings, and Doughty made yet another statement when speaking to Custance that really made it sound like he would legitimately consider leaving the team.

Doughty is considered by many to be the NHL's very best defensive defenseman, and he would no doubt fetch a massive price on the free agent market. And perhaps even more importantly he would provide a gigantic upgrade to literally every single blue line in the league. 

It's a long ways away, but we already can't wait for free agency in 2019.
