Breaking: NHL superstar has been injured, will miss the All-Star Game!

While these announcements are no longer a surprise they are a major disappointment for fans.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have announced via head coach Mike Sullivan that star forward Evgeni Malkin has been injured and will miss Thursday's game in Boston against the Bruins as well as the upcoming NHL All-Star game.

The timing of this announcement has of course once again raised questions about player participation in the All-Star game, this despite the fact that it's perfectly plausible that Malkin is legitimately injured. 

That being said, we won't be surprised if this isn't the only announcement of it's kind before the week-end.
