A National Hockey League franchise has had some very serious accusations laid at it's feet after a pair of investigations from the National Labor Relations Board have resulted in the team settling with at least one former employee.

Unsurprisingly the allegations are being directed at one of the NHL's struggling teams, the Arizona Coyotes. Despite the fact that most fans won't be shocked to learn that the Coyotes are a gong show, it remains a massive embarrassment for the NHL.

From Arizona Central Sports:

The employee had alleged the violations occurred during most of 2016, when the Coyotes created an impression that employees were under surveillance, threatened staff if they engaged in union organizing, caused employees to sign overly broad and discriminatory severance agreements and fired the employee after she complained the Coyotes failed to properly pay staff, according to NLRB records.

The charges were withdrawn in February, after the employee and the Coyotes reached an undisclosed settlement. The team admitted no wrongdoing.

Even worse for both the NHL and the Coyotes, this matter is still far from over. According to the report the NLRB has another investigation headed to a hearing in January and once again the Coyotes are facing similar allegations.

For better or worse the Coyotes have been one of the least respected franchises in the NHL almost since their inception, and this newest set of accusations is likely to result in even more calls for that franchises to be relocated.
