Breaking: NHL to suspend Marchand for reckless stupid move at the end of Game 3?!

The NHL needs to take action here...

Brad Marchand needed to give everything he had in the tank for the Boston Bruins to take the lead in the second round series against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday night.

However, the Bruins star forward ended up going back to his old antics that have gotten him in hot water with the NHL so many times before…

At the end of the game with the Jackets leading 2-1 with a minute to go, the Bruins attempted to get to goalie Sergei Bobrovsky and tie the contest to force overtime, however the veteran netminder was just too good.

It seems to anger Marchand, who after Bobrovsky stopped the puck, decided to sneak out on the goalie’s teammate defenseman Scott Harrington to punch him in the back of the head. The defenseman was on his knees and vulnerable on the sequence.

Even Don Cherry, who says Marchand is his favourite Bruin, could not believe the forward’s stupid decision.

It remains to be seen if the NHL will review the gesture and contact Marchand, who we all know has quite the history with the Player Safety department.

But here is some advice Marchand: there’s a minute to go in Game 3 and you’re trailing 2-1. You shouldn’t cost your team because you can’t help but do stupid things…

The Blue Jackets took the lead in the series with tonight's win.
